Intern, COVID-19

Department: SS&M
Location: US Remote
Duration: 26 weeks
Reports to: Manager, SS&M & Transitions
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary:

  • The Intern, COVID-19 observes and participates in illness prevention and mitigation efforts, within a worldwide professional sports organization.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Medical data entry into WTA Health and Safety Connect and Electronic documentation system (EMR)
  • Assist the Performance Health team with the review, collection, and tracking of COVID-19 medical information, including but not limited to vaccination records and test results
  • Provide weekly COVID-19 status reports to the Performance Health staff
  • Assist with various projects, including but not limited to COVID-19 vaccination drive and COVID-19 protocol updates. 
  •  Assist with presentation materials
  •  Assist in production of COVID-19 player education materials 
  •  Assist with basic admin and operations functions
  •  Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Obtaining or recently obtained a degree(s) in: Public Health, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Statistics, Health Information Systems, Analytics Medical Documentation, Excercise Science, or related field required.
  • Public Health Background preferred, but not required.
  • Medical documentation background preferred, but not required
  • Experience with COVID-19 prevention
  • Experience with tennis and/or "individual" skills

Intern, Player Development Online Content

Department: Member Relations
Location: US Remote
Duration: 26 weeks
Reports to: VP, Player Development and Member Education
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary:

  • Player Development is the umbrella institution for education and the WTA’s resource center. Player Development programs promote and enhance players’ career fulfillment, safety and well- being.
  • Further, the WTA is a member-based organization and providing member education is key to providing best in class services.The Player Development and Member Education intern works with the other members of the department to deliver best-in-class Player Development online content.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive, organize and file content outlines and structural overviews from subject experts from the WTA Player Development department.
  • Collaborate with department leads on finalizing storyboarding of content
  • Design content to optimize the learning experience for entry level WTA Players
  • Ensure that content matches the learners' needs
  •  Create visual, audio and interactive learning tools including but are not limited to: short instructional videos (vignettes), podcasts, animations
  •  Assist the VP, Player Development and Member Education with content management for WTA players and their support team members on WTA University
  •  Administrative duties include but are not limited to: participation in weekly staff meetings and ad hoc projects (e.g., collection athlete development articles, collecting and organizing related content assets such as imagery, hyperlinks and videos.)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, creative design, web design, or similar
  • A team player who respects and interacts well with colleagues
  • Adapts easily and shows initiative
  • Working knowledge of instructional tools (i.e. Lectora, Articulate, Camtasia) and administration of Learning Management Systems (i.e. Coursemill, Litmos)
  • Competitive tennis knowledge preferred

Senior Accountant

Department: Accounting
Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Classification: Exempt

Summary:  

We are looking for a detailed-oriented senior accountant to perform accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include but not limited to performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, conducting monthly variance analysis, researching items/issues impacting financial statements, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute timely month-end accounting close activities and deliverables (i.e. journal entries, prepare and analyze account reconciliations as assigned)
  • Analytical reviews and forecasting of assigned departmental areas
  • Provide financial and analytical support to assigned departments
  • Maintain proper documentation of monthly data and analysis
  • Back-up support for other functions in the accounting area
  • Assist with review of various balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist with review of International entity financial statements
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements/reports and various other fiscal reports for each department
  • Assist in special projects, process improvement and documentation
  • Contribute to improving process workflows
  • Assist with annual budget preparation
  • Assist with preparing Tax forms 1099’s and 1042’s at year-end
  • Assist with the annual audit and preparation of audit schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • B.A / B.S degree in Accounting Required
  • CPA a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Financial / budget analysis 
  • Tax, including international, experience a plus

  • Self-starter, ability to stay on task with limited supervision
  • Microsoft Office proficient
